LittleBigPlanet Accidentally Announced?

April 17, 2010

Back in 2008, gamers were granted with one of the most fun and inventive games of the generation: LittleBigPlanet. Anyone who’s played it will know that it has so much charm to it and is just generally a really enjoyable game. Since it’s release, there has been loads of DLC for the game ranging from level packs to character skins and Media Molecule (The developers) have expressed that they wished to support the game by continuing to add content rather than make a sequel.

However, Christopher Leary (Better known as Ochre), Tweeted earlier on that he was “Pleased to announce the licensing of ‘Infotain Me’ to Sony for Little Big Planet 2 on PS3.”. Since then the Tweet has been deleted which suggests that there may be some truth behind it. Sony wouldn’t want a LittleBigPlanet sequel to be announced like this; this is the kind of thing for E3.

The game has been previously mentioned before. It came up in an interview about the upcoming PlayStation Move where it was mentioned as a game that would support the controls. Sony told us that it was simply a mistake though; this may not be the case.

Killzone 3 in 2010?

October 19, 2009

Killzone 2

In the December issue of Playstation: The Official Magazine they have an article entitled “The Secret Games of 2010”. Here’s an extract:

“Insider slips reveal three big names you can already pencil for the next year. Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development, Insomniac’s Full Moon Show podcast hints at a project we can only conclude is Resistance 3, and a Treyarch employee’s online mentions a Call of Duty: World at World sequel.”

I could see Resistance 3 coming out towards the end of next year and due to a billboard we pretty much know it’s in the works. I don’t really want a World at War sequel but no doubt there will be a Treyarch made Call of Duty game anyway. As for Killzone 3, I’m a bit skeptical. The second game was good but it was in the works for ages so I don’t think we will see a third game so soon.

inFamous 2 Announced

October 13, 2009

inFamous 2 has been announced via David Sullivan’s Twitter. The Twitter post states:

“First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game. Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. “I’ll melt your face.” e.g”

It looks like there will be a new voice actor for Cole who was originally voiced by Phil LaMarr. LaMarr is a good voice actor but his voice was very gruff and deep in inFamous so this might be for the best. I enjoyed the demo of the first game but still haven’t got round to getting it. I’ll try and pick it up once I’ve finished the other games I have to play.

I Want A Dark Cloud Sequel!

October 2, 2009

While talking to Kotaku, Level 5 mentioned the possibilities of a Dark Cloud sequel. They said that if enough people show interest in a sequel then it is definitely something they would consider so make sure you express how much you want a third Dark Cloud. If you have never played Dark Cloud or the sequel Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2 in NA) you really should pick them up and then tell Level 5 how much you want another one.

White Knight Chronicles Sequel Announced

September 24, 2009

White Knight Chronicles 2

Level 5’s White Knight Chronicles will be receiving a sequel called White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light. Now I’m a big fan of Level 5 and more of their games is all fined and dandy to me but it would be nice if the first game would actually get released over here so I can actually play it. Even though Level 5 normally take an age with localisation, it is usually worth the wait.

Now other details were released for the sequel (I presume it will be a PS3 exclusive though) but the first game should be arriving outside Japan Q1 next year.

New Okami for the DS

September 1, 2009

You may or may not have read my post last week about Capcom filling the trademark “Okamiden”. Well that post was halway right. My fault was thinking that we would be getting a next-gen sequel to Okami when we are actually getting a sequel on the DS. Okamiden will be released sometime next year.

Famitsu had an article on the game and here’s a snap of the article which has a screenshot in it.

Famitsu Okami

This won’t be developed by the original developers though. Clover Studios were behind Okami but they are no longer. I still have high hopes for this though.

Okami sequel?

August 26, 2009

The first Okami was truly an amazing game. Anyone who played it undoubtedly agree. Everything from the art style to the world was just incredible and now there is a chance of a sequel. There has been no announcement of any kind but Capcom have recently filed a trademark for “Okamiden”. Silconera have pointed out that this could be a shortened version of “Okami Gaiden” or “Okami Densetsu“.

Like I said though this is not fact. The Wii version of Okami hasn’t been released in Japan and is scheduled for the 15th of October so it could be something to do with that. Hopefully there will be something said soon.
