Gears of War 3 – What Needs To Be Done

2006 saw the launch of one of the finest third person shooters I have ever had the good fortune to play: Gears of War. It has led the way for practically all third person shooters of this generation with its extremely refined cover system and really weighty mechanics. It all seemed to come together brilliantly. There was pretty much no story but it had atmosphere and is quite possibly the best excuse to run around shooting the shit out of everything I’ve ever played. Read the rest of this entry ?

Gears of War 3 Round Up

You’ve probably already heard about Gears of War 3 being announced and I really should have posted about it earlier but some unfortunate events prevented me from doing so. Instead, I’ve decided to round up as much information on the game as possible all in one big post.

First of all we have the above trailer which was shown last night on the Jimmy Fallon show. The melancholy, acoustic music (Heron Blue by Sun Kil Moon if you’re interested) used in the trailer is a common trait with the series as both the previous installments have shown footage alongside emotional music. Gears of War 3 Revealed In Magazine

Examiner have found that the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has revealed that it will contain information on the unannounced Gears of War 3. Despite it not being announced, Cliff Bleszinski has stated that he would be revealing his next game this Thursday on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

If you look at the subscription image you can see the magazine’s cover which mentions Gears of War 3, alongside others. Expect a full announcement to pop up soon; most likely on Thursday night.

Gears 2 DLC Released

Gears of War 2

The Gears of War 2 DLC, Dark Corners, is now available to download from Xbox LIVE. Dark Corners contains seven multiplayer maps and a “deleted scene” in the single player campaign which gives you to chance to do some stealth gameplay (You can just run n’ gun through it if you like though). Dark Corners costs 1200 Microsoft Points which is £10.20.

The All Fronts Collection is also available to download which contains Dark Corners and all other map packs released so far. The All Fronts Collection will put you back 1600 points which is £13.60.
